About Milk Bar

Milk Bar is a sweet (and occasionally savory) shop that's been quietly shaking up the dessert scene since 2008. Bon Appetit magazine called us "one of the most exciting bakeries in the country." But you can literally just call us Milk Bar. Founded by James Beard award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi, Milk Bar is known for inventing: the Compost Cookieยฎ, layer cakes with unfrosted sides, Cereal Milkโ„ข Soft Serve, Milk Bar Pie the first flip phone and shoulder pads (Ok, technically those last two weren't us. Snag some standout treats and skip off to your next adventure.

Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

The interior is very clean and service is super fast! This was my first time coming and they had so many items I wanted to try, but I got the corn (heard theyโ€™re known for this and itโ€™s back for a limited time!) and chocolate chip cookie. They were slightly chewy and really tasty. Will be coming back again!

Love milk bar so much. I am the biggest fan of milk bar. Christina Tosi is a god. I got the chocolate marshmallow swirl brownie and my dad got the cherry cola pie.

Delicious sundaes in Midtown. Definitely worth a shot if youโ€™re looking for a comforting dessert. I ordered their famous cereal milk sundae with crispy corn flakes as the topping. They only serve 3 flavours of soft serves here which is usually a sign theyโ€™re going to be high quality. The portion size was generous, and the crispy corn flakes bits were nicely layered both on top and below the soft serve so that you still had lots of the crunchiness at the bottom. The crispy corn flakes are so delicious. Basically think of it as small corn flakes that are caramelised and I think a hint of sea salt is then added? Donโ€™t know what they did here but there were amazing. The soft serve itself really tastes like cereal milk, no other way to say it. The texture is smooth and creamy, and the flavour is like vanilla, but with a subtle flavour of cereal milk. Would definitely recommend this place. Theyโ€™re open until quite late so would also work as a fantastic late night dessert spot.

Loved the cereal milk soft serve. The cornflakes on top were too rich for me, would skip that next time. Also love the compost cookie and the triple PB cookie is my fave. P.s. Mikey and Asher were an all-star team!! ๐Ÿช

I'm not sure if I had too high expectation of this place towards my first time here, but I left somewhat disappointed. My husband and myself ordered the soft serve & cookie deal, and ordered a soft serve with a crunchy cornflakes topping, and the peanut butter cookie. The soft serve was quite plain, and the crunchy cornflakes that I heard so much about were basically just some clusters of Frosties cereal. The cookie was wayyy too sweet, although I expected its saltiness to balance the flavors, it didn't at all. We threw it awat after having 1 bite each. The only silver lining was the super kind staff that was welcoming & professional, but that's probably not a good enough reason to come back here..
